Our Mission Statement Riverside PTO is committed to keeping our parents informed, encouraging parental involvement and increasing our children's enthusiasm for school through fun activities and events which will enhance our school spirit. |
| Dear Riverside Families, Welcome back! We're excited to see so many familiar faces and to meet our newest families. PTO has a lot of great events planned for this year. As always, we love to have you volunteer with us as your schedule allows. Here is a list of many of events this year: Book Fairs Fall Bingo Night Silent Auctions Boosterthon Valentine's Dance Carnival Holiday Boutique Picture Day Yearbook Uniform Sales Room Moms Ten for Ten Recycling Fundraisers Boxtops/Campbell's/Tyson Labels Family Nights The fundraisers listed above support many programs at Riverside. In order to help you better understand where YOUR fundraising dollars are being spent, below is a brief breakdown of what PTO paid for in 2010-2011: Technology $26,000 Document cameras & projectors in all classrooms Cafeteria Aides $12,150 Part-time cafeteria aides to monitor children AR Reading Test Program $3,200 AR program to build reading skills at all levels Scholastic News Magazines $3,500 Weekly current events subscription for our children School Improvement $700 Miscellaneous landscape and school beautification Staff Appreciation $2700 Staff appreciation / student incentives and recognition TOTAL $41,850 If you would like to volunteer, please join us at our Volunteer Kickoff on September 1 at 8:30 am followed by our PTO Kick-Off meeting in the cafeteria. If you can not attend, please fill out the enclosed volunteer form and return it with your child to his/her teacher, and we will contact you. Whether you work full-time, part-time or have younger children at home, there's always a way you can help at Riverside! If you have any questions, please call the front office and ask for the PTO room. If one of the board members is not in, just leave a message on our voicemail, and we will call you back. Please note: It will take a few weeks for your registration to be processed. You must always enter the school through the front office and until you receive your 'official' volunteer badge, please be prepared to show an official photo id such as a Driver’s License, FL State ID Card or current passport. |
